Our background boasts two decades in recreating rock, stemming from years in the film industry (set design and building), to building animal enclosures and sculptural elements for theme parks, creating residential and commercial rock-scapes and art directing grand projects all over the world! We have an affinity for hand sculpting and texturing realistic, faux rock and are proud to offer this selection; a testament to the age-old allure of imitating nature - our biggest source of inspiration. Rooted in the core of biomimicry and the profound ethos of biophilic and wabi-sabi design, and understanding the complexity of dealing with actual stone and rock in an indoor space, we aim to bring the otherwise impossible into your living or work space!
Elevating natural materials like wood, terracotta, stone, concrete and cutting edge, bio-based composites, these pieces resonate with the cadence of the earth. All of our rock and stone work (unless otherwise specified), utilises a bio-composite that is environmentally friendly, non-toxic and fire-resistant. Each piece has been thoughtfully sculpted and hand painted by skilled artisans and protected with an environmentally friendly, interior or exterior (as required) sealer. Most furniture items are suitable for indoor or outdoor use and the beauty of our range over real stone, is its' lightweight nature which won't damage tiles, carpets, lawns etc and of course, the ease of cleaning aspect. With some of our heavier items, we have built them in sections, to be put together onsite, for ease of transportation and making the easy to move about your space, whenever your hear so desires.
We are a completely Australian owned, Queensland based company, and pride ourselves on our meticulous attention to detail and designer aesthetic, producing limited editions of all our range. All furniture items are made to order, so please allow up to 10 weeks for manufacture and delivery, which will be via courier. Ultimately, Faux Biophilia brings a sense of calmness through nature inspired pieces, beckoning a horizon where the human-made and nature coexist.
